Blended Learning Reopening Starting 3/22/2021

Today the Mayor and Chancellor announced that schools will reopen the week of March 22nd for Blended Learning students. Please see the Chancellor’s Message to Families here. Here is more information about what to expect if your child is returning to Blended Learning:

Testing

  • All in-person students must consent to COVID-19 testing. Students will be selected at random for testing, but please note that testing may be as frequent as weekly. Ms. Huang or another member of our faculty will be reaching out to you if we do not have your consent form on file.

Scheduling

  • In an effort to maintain consistency and stability for all our students, please note we will not be making schedule changes if we return in-person. This means that students who report to school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays will still be logging into Zoom synchronous classes from the school building. Classrooms will be supervised by either our own faculty or substitute teachers but lessons will still be entirely taught online.
  • On Tuesdays and Thursdays, please note we will be creating a schedule for students to meet with teachers in-person for academic support.

Next Steps

  • Blended Learning students and their parents/guardians received a Google Form in their emails. Please use this form to indicate if you’d still like to return in-person and for how many days a week. We will make our best effort to accommodate students’ requests, subject to staffing. We will be making individual outreach as well to answer questions and confirm your preferences. Blended Learning students should attend our Zoom meeting on Thursday, March 11, at 9AM. Please check your emails for the link.
